I spent the last week honing my skills in New Jersey/Philadelphia with Cliff Mautner , who is widely regarded as a “master of light” and was named one of the “top 10 wedding photographers in the world” by American Photo magazine. It was an intense 3 days spent with not just Cliff, but some of the most amazing people I’ve had the pleasure of working with…..people from as far away as Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Toronto, California, and one crazy dude from……Yarmouth!

To say I had high expectations would be as much an understatement as saying I had a great time…..it was fabulous….rewarding, challenging…..liberating.

As simple words they seem cliche….trite even….but what’s to be said that hasn’t been said before?

There was a moment on Day 2 when each of us was asked why we were there, and when my turn came I was unexplicably overwhelmed. Overwhelmed with my lack of words to aptly explain the fierce determination to become the absolute best photographer I can be….for my clients and for myself. I believe those 3 days, and the accompanying support system will be invaluable to that goal.
