Angela & Jason: A Keith’s Brewery Wedding | Nova Scotia Wedding Photographer

Relationships are key for any business and especially so for a photographer. I take pride in the ones I have built with my current clients, and the ones I continue to foster with those past.

So when I agreed to step in as Angela and Jason’s photographer this past Saturday (after an unavoidable cancellation by their first choice) I was a bit nervous. We first met exactly 10 days before their ceremony…and I can only imagine what was going through their minds…..but as we left that initial meeting, there seemed to be a sense of relief on all accounts.

It was a fun day, (even if we did fly by the seat of our pants for the most part!) and I especially enjoyed watching their guests in the ‘photobooth’.

It wasn’t something I’d ever offered before, but was a part of their original package and I wanted to honor it for them. After I got everything setup that morning, my buddy Jimmy came for the evening and kept an eye on all the shenanigans! Thanks for keeping it under control sir;)

My assistant Kayla and I maaaaay have jumped in for a shot ourselves;)

Maria & Aneesh | Nova Scotia Wedding Photographer

If you have been a longtime follower of my site, or have ever seen a copy of my maternity & newborn business card, you may recognize Maria !

I was truly honored when she asked me to shoot her and Aneesh’s wedding this past week in Newfoundland & Labrador….a gorgeous setting for a gorgeous couple. It was my first time to “The Rock”, and also my first time working with Jason Lefrense of JLF Productions. I hope it won’t be the last….for either! You can view the amazing cinematography done by Jason for Maria and Nish’s wedding HERE.

A real quick peek for the happy couple, currently honeymooning in Costa Rica before they both return to medical school in Ireland ♥

Shyann & Jesse | Halifax Wedding Photographer

I was honored to be asked by Lorraine Lorette to assist her on her very last wedding ever this past Saturday….she had heard my name when attending a workshop put on by my good friend Stephanie Robin and also from another Halifax photographer, Heather Crosby-Gionet.

I have been very fortunate in the number of photographer friends who have so willingly helped spread the word that I am now shooting weddings.

It is not a small thing to me, and one that is not taken lightly.

I hope that as I book more weddings this next season,  I will be able to repay the gestures.

Shyann & Jesse had two simple requests for their wedding photography.

Make it stress-free…..and make it feel like Halifax.

I hope to have succeeded.

Client Love | Halifax Wedding Photographer

It’s always a bit of a gut-check when I send off a client’s gallery.

Will they love them?

Will they be happy?

I hold my breath.

Hoping.

Nervous.

And then….you get a response like this one from Denise.

“When Dominic and I started planning for our wedding, we faced the challenges of a short time frame and limited knowledge of Halifax and surrounding area.  We knew one thing for sure though, and that was that we wanted to have a wedding where love and laughter was evident in all things.

When we met you that Easter weekend it was love at first sight!  I could not say what we enjoyed the most, the photos you showed us, your enthusiasm in picking out locations for the photo shoots or your personality.  Dominic and I immediately felt at ease with you.  We had so much fun and were so impressed by your excellence not only in your photography but also in your ability to bring out honest emotions and truly enjoy each moment.  What excellent qualities to have as a photographer!  We knew you were the one for us, after only a few hours together.

On the day of the wedding you were phenomenal.  I have heard so many compliements about you from all of our guests!  You were there not just for me and Dominic, but for the wedding party and our guests.  You made me cry with your kind words, you were right in there with the bridesmaids trying to play a joke on Dominic, you braved the rain, you stayed until the very end (although misplacing your keys did not help) and your creativity with the photography had not just us, but our wedding guests excited to see the finished product!

I felt that you were not just our photographer who was there to capture the special moments of our day, but that you shared in our laughter and excitement and that you even helped to bring out the love and laughter that we wanted so much to be evident in all things.

Not only are you responsible for giving us the tangible memories of our wedding day, but you are also a special part of those memories. ”

And then I exhale. ♥
