Under the Weather | Halifax Child Photographer

Poor little Thea.

We finally had amazing weather (+25 degrees at the end of September, yes please!) for her oft-cancelled session (and I don’t use “oft” lightly…..it was supposed to take place in MAY!)….and little bean was sick.

She started off like a trooper and quickly faded.

I’ll soon you soon darlin’. Feel better.

At Home with Ruby | Halifax Newborn Photographer

It’s been quite some time since I shot a newborn outside of the studio. The past year has been spent almost exclusively in my space, and even before then when I would go on-site the sessions and final images had a very “studio” feel to them.

This one was different.

Erika had requested their session be done at their house….and I have to admit, the resulting images have a real sense of intimacy…a sense of home….of family. For me, it’s almost palpable.

Thank you Erika, for bringing me back to my roots. ♥

Sophie Turns One! | Nova Scotia Child and Family Photographer

Someone asked me today if I still take maternity, baby and family photos…….yes I do!

I spent a gorgeous morning at the beach today with Miss Sophie….any regulars remember her sweet face? She is turning one next week….and not long after will become a big sister!

Stay tuned for Baby Gray 2.0;)

Venessa & Luke Get Married | Nova Scotia Wedding Photographer

Venessa and Luke opted for an old Hollywood glam themed wedding….from their engagement session, to the hair, the decor, the music, they didn’t miss a beat.

I will tell you one thing though….I have never cried so much at a wedding in my entire life.

I was good until Venessa’s dad started to go….and then I was done for.  A Hollywood moment if I ever witnessed one.

I cried when Uncle Kurt toasted the couple.

I cried when Mom Bev read a letter that Venessa had written to her father as a young girl, only to be opened on her wedding day (!)…..not a dry eye in the house for that one.

I cried as Mom Lynda toasted her son, and spoke of how proud she and Luke’s father were of him.

Both Luke and Venessa are “only” children….much adored and held in such high regard by all. However, if you were to equate “only” with “lonely” you would be very mistaken. With six cousins standing in the bridal party alone, this is one tight knit group.

I hope you all enjoy a quick peek of the day! ♥
