Miss Ella | Halifax Baby Photographer

Little Miss Ella turned one a couple of weeks ago, and Mama wanted her to have a session all on her own, before she started to lose those quickly fading baby features. I have photographed Ella twice before, and each time I am struck by her big brown doe eyes and beautifully classic features. This little one is going to be a charmer, no doubt! ♥

Classic Beauty | Halifax Maternity Photographer

I love newborn photography, and it is always special when I’m able to spend some time with the new parents before the impending arrival. It’s a time of such excitement and anticipation….but also a time when some women don’t feel their most glamorous.

I think it’s an all too common feeling….you’ve gained weight (in my case it was 40-65 lbs!), your favorite clothes don’t fit, and your complexion may have reverted to that of a 13 year old.

Yet, there you stand, trusting me….placing yourself in front of my camera.

When Vanessa and Don came into the studio yesterday, I immediately liked them. Vanessa quickly told me that she wasn’t particularly fond of the camera, was a rather “boring” person who felt like a giant house.

Vanessa…..

I hope you are able to see yourself in these images as I see you.

A classic beauty, who may very well not like being in front of the camera, but absolutely belongs in front of it.

I hope you see the blatant love and pride on Don’s face, that I saw, while he watched you yesterday.

I so look forward to meeting your daughter.

Toronto | Halifax Child Photographer

I spent Thanksgiving weekend in Toronto with my good friend Stephanie of Stephanie Robin Photography & Design , acting as her client liason for the Crafty Baby Workshop! It was so nice to see her again, and this time around to meet her wonderful family! On the last day, we snuck in a quick little session with her oldest daughter before we hit the airport. Gorgeous light, beautiful setting, sweet girl, and a homemade rocking horse made with Grandpa’s own hands.
